Every area of the island compared honestly by a local host — and why we chose Lambi for our own two homes.
Kos is small and flat, so you can't go far wrong — but each area has a very different feel. Distances are from Kos Town.
The harbour, the old town, the Castle of the Knights and most of the island's restaurants and bars. Lively and convenient, but the centre can be noisy at night in high season.
📍 View on Google MapsA long sandy beach on the northern edge of Kos Town. Quieter than the centre, with beach cafés, bike rentals and a flat seafront path into town. Where our two homes are.
📍 View on Google MapsA stretch of coast east of town lined with larger resort hotels. Calm and green, a little further from the action.
📍 View on Google MapsLong, shallow beaches on the north coast — great for families and windsurfing. Quiet in the evenings; you'll want a car or bike to get around.
📍 View on Google MapsA busy resort town known for its nightlife and beach bars. Lively in summer, not the place for a quiet break.
📍 View on Google MapsThe island's quiet far end, close to beautiful beaches like Agios Stefanos and Cavo Paradiso. Scenic and peaceful, but far from Kos Town.
📍 View on Google MapsMost couples want two things that rarely come together: a quiet place to rest, and good restaurants within reach. That's why we recommend Lambi. You wake up a few minutes from a sandy beach, and in the evening Kos Town is a short walk, bike ride or bus away — no car needed.
Drive up to the mountain village of Zia for golden hour and dinner with a view. Book a taverna table in summer.
Boats leave Kos Port daily for the volcanic island of Nisyros, or for Bodrum in Turkey (bring your passport).
Our studio Home Away From Home is made for two: a private garden with its own outdoor hot tub, a 5-minute walk from the beach.
Families love the long, shallow beaches of Tigaki and Marmari, but evenings there are quiet and you'll want a car. If you prefer everything within reach — supermarkets, restaurants, a sandy beach and Kos Town — Lambi works beautifully. Our Harmonia Hideout sleeps up to 4 guests in two bedrooms, with a full kitchen and a private jacuzzi.
Both a 5-minute walk from Lambi beach and about 2 km from Kos Town. Book direct — no platform fees, no cleaning fee.

Yes. Kos is relaxed, safe and easy to get around, with long sandy beaches, sunset dinners in the mountain village of Zia, and easy day trips by boat to Nisyros or Bodrum. For couples we suggest a base in Lambi: a quiet beach area, yet a short walk or bike ride from the restaurants and bars of Kos Town.
Lambi or Kos Town. Both have beaches, restaurants, bike and car rentals and the island's best bus connections. Kos is famously flat, so a bicycle covers most of what you need — Kos Town is about 20 minutes by bike from Lambi along the seafront.
About 2 km. You can walk along the seafront, cycle in around 20 minutes, or take the city bus, which runs regularly and costs around €1.20.
About 30 minutes by car. Message us on WhatsApp if you'd like help arranging a transfer.
Families often like the long, shallow beaches of Tigaki and Marmari, or Lambi if you want a sandy beach plus everything Kos Town offers within reach. Our Harmonia Hideout sleeps up to 4 guests in 2 bedrooms.
The busiest nightlife is in Kos Town (the old town bar streets) and in the resort of Kardamena on the south coast. Lambi is calm at night but close enough to Kos Town to go out and come back easily.
