Getting Around Kos

Kos is small and flat — most guests get around easily without a rental car.

Rent a bicycle

Kos is famously flat. Rental shops are minutes from Lambi — the best way to explore coastal paths and roll into Kos Town in about 20 minutes.

City bus to Kos Town

The city bus (DEAS) runs regularly to Kos Town and costs around €1.20, paid on board. For live schedules, use the Moovit app or mobility.kos.gr.

From Kos Airport

About 30 minutes by car from Kos International Airport to the Lambi area. Message us on WhatsApp if you'd like help arranging a transfer.

Ferry to Nisyros

A day trip to the volcanic island of Nisyros — about 1 hour, from €7.50. Ferries depart daily from Kos Port.

Day trip to Bodrum, Turkey

A quick ~30-minute boat crossing to vibrant markets, a magnificent castle and excellent seafood. Boats depart daily from Kos Port — bring your passport.

Car & scooter rental

Bicycles, e-bikes, scooters and cars are all easy to find near Lambi — one of the best-equipped rental areas on the island.

Local Tips

🌊

Before 9 AM the beach is almost empty and the water is perfectly calm — the best 30 minutes of the day. Set your alarm just once.

🕐

Visit Zia after 4 PM for golden hour and the famous sunset. Book a mountain taverna table in advance — they fill up fast in summer.

🐟

Eat where locals eat — look for tavernas with handwritten menus away from the waterfront. A sure sign of fresh, home-cooked food.

🚲

Kos is famously flat. Renting a bicycle is often the best way to explore the coastal paths and roll into Kos Town.
